Efor All Blog Covers 1
Meet EforAll Entrepreneur Coren Stewart of Teddish!

Meet Coren Stewart of Teddish, one of the newest Cape Cod business ventures from the recent EforAll Cape Cod Spring Business Accelerator! Teddish is the Cape's premier membership dating service putting the fun back in dating. Learn more about Coren and Teddish below!

To kick us off, describe your business and what you're bringing to the Cape community.

At Teddish, we understand you have a better chance of breaking the sound barrier than meeting your significant other on the Cape & Islands. Bars, well-intended family and friend referrals or online dating apps result in awkward blind dates that zap all the fun and excitement out romance. Teddish helps people find love and companionship, a better, safer way by vetting prospects with personal interviews, verifying background information while going on fun adventures. Our private membership club for singles & single parent families is big on social impact and supporting small businesses and nonprofits.

Teddish brings terrific, like-minded individuals together to make no pressure connections organically while making memories and having fun! This company is a fresh twist aimed at disrupting the dating industry by restoring truth, authenticity and excitement back into the dating scene. Our website is coming soon teddish.com

When we speak with Cape-based entrepreneurs and small business owners, many of them are passionate about keeping their businesses on Cape. What do you find special (or challenging!) about being an entrepreneur on Cape Cod?

I come from a family of small business owners and worked for my father over the years in addition to my career pursuits. For many, myself included, entrepreneurship has been an integral part of my life as well as the fabric of our local community. Making a living here means being nimble and as a workforce can resemble a patch-work quilt. It's exciting to launch a business that improves the quality of life of others while promoting community engagement with social impact as a core value.

What is the most valuable thing you are taking away from the EforAll Cape Cod Business Accelerator?

If asked this question several months ago when our cohort graduated from EforAll my answer would have been the network of support and content-based on the exceptional quality of the business program. Now, as I soft launch my business this month, I have been applying every ounce of what I learned during the EforAll incubator, my take-aways are realized almost daily. Since EforAll, there hasn't been anything I tackle as an entrepreneur that the organization did not somehow prepare me for or expose me to. I cannot underscore the value of the this as well as the people in my cohort and our mentors who are sustaining partners and champions of one another. EforAll also opens doors for their entrepreneurs by making connections and providing access to high level professionals that would be otherwise unattainable. I cannot thank the program enough for teaching me to pivot through my failures and instill the courage in me to drive hard at my vision every day. Christin Marshall, Executive Director and Amanda Kaiser, Program Manager of the Cape Cod program are aces.

At CCYP, one of our strategic priorities is to promote Cape Cod as a vibrant place for young people to live and work, year-round. What would you tell other entrepreneurs thinking about starting their businesses on Cape?

You get by with a little help from your friends. Reach out to CCYP, EforAll, WeCan, Community Leadership Institute, SCORE and the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce who support small businesses. Use every local human and financial resource available to you to build your business. You will do best with a strong network of support. Becoming an entrepreneur in a seasonal economy takes GRIT and surrounding yourself with good people is critical. Line the bench with your supporters and leave the pessimists in the outfield. You have everything it takes to make it as an entrepreneur. Some days and years will be easier than others to survive here for your family, but don't stop trying, we are all in it together
