PRESS RELEASE: CCYP Announces Leadership Change

Current CEO to step down; search for new CEO underway

Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP) Chief Executive Officer Lauren Barker will step down effective November 13, 2020 to take a position as Economic Development Planner with the Town of Eastham. Barker has been the CEO for more than 3 years, shepherding the organization through new initiatives and growth of programs that help to connect, engage, and advance Cape Cod’s young workforce and leaders.

“It has been such an incredible privilege to help steer the important work of CCYP these last few years,” said Lauren Barker. “CCYP is a critical piece of the puzzle in ensuring that Cape Cod remains a vibrant place for young people to live and work, year-round, and I am confident that the talented team of board members and future leadership will do an exceptional job in continuing to make progress toward the organization’s mission and goals.”

Barker and the CCYP Board of Directors are working collaboratively to ensure a smooth transition for the organization. CCYP has tapped former board member Jamie Bohlin, who owns Cape Cod Celebrations, as the Interim CEO while the board focuses on a comprehensive search to identify the next permanent leader of the organization. To assist in the search, the CCYP Board of Directors has retained local search firm, Wallin Search Group, headed by Kendra Wallin, also a former CCYP board member.

“Lauren has helped advance not only CCYP, but the entire Cape community, and we couldn’t be more proud of everything she has accomplished,” said Sara Kohls, CCYP Board President. “CCYP is fortunate to be able to lean on the shoulders of its past volunteer leadership in Jamie, who already serves as a consultant to CCYP on events, and in Kendra, to help us identify the next CEO.”

All candidate inquiries and applications should be directed to Kendra Wallin at Wallin Search Group via jobs@wallinsearch.com.
