PRESS RELEASE: CCYP Reimagines Annual Back to Business Bash

Pttc Announcement Post2
“Passport to the Cape” Themed Virtual Event Supports Local Businesses and Young Professionals

Cape Cod Young Professionals, Inc. (CCYP) is excited to announce the 2020 Back to Business Bash: Passport to the Cape Edition. The virtual event will take place during the entire month of September and is dedicated to continuing the spirit of the organization’s signature Back to Business Bash event while prioritizing the health of the community and supporting hard-hit local businesses. The event will feature a passport-style ‘Bash Pass’ that provides access to giveaways and delicious free food items at locations across Cape Cod, similar to what attendees would receive at an in-person Bash event. Bash passes are now on sale through August 31st via the CCYP website at www.capecodyoungprofessionals.org/Bash, with pricing at $35 for members and $45 for non-members. Back to Business Bash: Passport to the Cape Edition is generously presented by Cape Cod Five.

Through the Back to Business Bash: Passport to the Cape Edition, participants will track their progress in the offer-filled Bash Pass as they trek across the Cape, collecting giveaways and experiences through local business vendors. Folks can follow the event and participants can track their progress by following and using the hashtag #capepassport on social media. Bash Pass offers - for example a free appetizer or gourmet cookies - are valid for the full month of September and do not require a purchase to be redeemed, though CCYP encourages participants to enjoy a full meal or find other ways to support participating businesses.

Participating vendors for the event include Cape Cod Coffee, Cleat & Anchor, Hog Island Beer Co., Land Ho!, Pizza Barbone, Scargo Café, Southside Cantina, and Washashore Bakery. Additional vendors will be added on an ongoing basis. For the most current list of vendors, or to learn about becoming a vendor for the 2020 Bash, visit www.capecodyoungprofessionals.org/Bash.

“Our team has worked hard to reimagine the event in a way that still honors this spirit, even if we aren’t able to all be together in one place at the same time.”

Lauren Barker, CEO of Cape Cod Young Professionals

The Annual Back to Business Bash, first held in 2007, is one of the most anticipated events on Cape Cod, attracting nearly 1,000 attendees each year. Over the years, the Bash has provided an extraordinary opportunity for young workers and employers alike to connect with fellow community members and colleagues while enjoying the best that Cape Cod has to offer in live music, food, drink, and fun. Vendor and sponsor booths feature giveaways, games, and prizes, and attendees can see the rare sight of the Cape’s young professional community gathered in one place.

In a typical year, the Back to Business Bash is both a “friend-raiser” and fundraiser for CCYP, raising awareness of the organization’s mission and bringing in funds to support CCYP’s year-round programs and opportunities, such as an annual professional development scholarship, civic engagement and advocacy efforts, and community networking events. However, during the global pandemic, CCYP’s Bash Steering Committee, Board of Directors, and Staff struggled to envision a way to responsibly hold such a large event. CCYP redesigned the Back to Business Bash in response to the health concerns presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the help and creativity of the organization’s all-volunteer Bash Steering Committee.

“CCYP’s Back to Business Bash has grown over many years to be the biggest and most beloved annual networking event on Cape Cod,” said Lauren Barker, CEO of Cape Cod Young Professionals. “Our team has worked hard to reimagine the event in a way that still honors this spirit, even if we aren’t able to all be together in one place at the same time.”
