CCYP relies heavily on the enthusiasm, creativity, talent, and commitment of committee volunteers to plan and execute high quality events, programs, and initiatives that provide opportunities for Cape Cod's young professionals in all sectors to connect, engage, advance, and lead.

Connect Events Committee

CCYP’s Connect Events Committee plans and oversees year-round Connect Events with the goal of fostering meaningful connections and building community on Cape Cod. CCYP hosts After Hours Connects, Coffee Connects, and Friends & Family Connects. We will also soon be launching Connect Outdoors events.

The Connect Events Committee is right for volunteers who:

  • Want to build connections with community members and make new professional contacts
  • Have skills to contribute in event planning, marketing, outreach, or volunteer management
  • Want to help foster new connections and engage young people living and working on Cape Cod
Back to Business Bash Committee

This committee organizes CCYP's biggest signature event, the Back to Business Bash held annually in September. The Bash, the largest annual networking event on Cape Cod, attracts many hundreds of attendees and showcases local restaurants, breweries, wineries, food and beverage purveyors, musicians, entertainers, and more! Planning and executing the Bash requires a tremendous volunteer effort.`

The Back to Business Bash Committee is a great fit for volunteers who:

  • Want to build connections with community members and make new professional contacts
  • Have skills to contribute in marketing, event planning, graphic design, or volunteer management
  • Love the Back to Business Bash event and want to contribute to this impactful Cape Cod community-building event
Shape the Cape Summit Committee

This CCYP Committee plans and oversees all aspects of CCYP’s annual one-day conference, the Shape the Cape Summit.

Each spring, CCYP convenes hundreds of business and nonprofit leaders, elected officials, local employers, and the Cape’s young workforce from all sectors at the Shape the Cape Summit for solutions-oriented sessions on the issues that matter most to our region. Summit sessions are designed to foster creative idea exchange, surface potential solutions, and identify opportunities for collaboration across sectors to ensure that our current and future workforce can live, work, and thrive in our region.

Contact us about serving on the Summit Committee if you:

  • Want to contribute to convening Cape Codders to shape innovative strategies and future opportunities in workforce housing, early childhood education, economic development, small business sustainability, coastal resilience, and more
  • Have skills to contribute in project management, event planning, marketing, outreach, facilitation, education, or volunteer management
Civic & Community Engagement Committee

The Civic & Community Engagement Committee helps guide CCYP’s civic engagement training and advocacy work on issues of importance to young professionals, our year-round workforce, and working families on Cape Cod. This committee also develops community service opportunities that connect and engage young professionals in making a positive impact.

The Civic & Community Engagement Committee is seeking volunteers who:

  • Are passionate about inspiring positive change on Cape Cod
  • Want to learn about, or get more involved in, local policy- and decision-making processes
  • Are interested in helping to implement CCYP's annual civic engagement training program: Town Meeting 101
  • Can share expertise in the areas of civic engagement, policy development, outreach, research, event planning, and/or communication
  • Want to advocate for housing, early childhood education, economic development, and other opportunities that positively impact quality of life for young people living and working on Cape Cod
Scholarship Committee

CCYP's Career Connect Scholarship offers a unique career development tool for young professionals across the Cape, with the goal of ensuring a more skilled and educated workforce on Cape Cod. The Scholarship Committee: reviews annual scholarship applications and recommends each year's recipients; helps track long-term outcomes and the success of scholarship recipients; and support fundraising efforts in support of CCYP's Career Connect Scholarship program.

The Scholarship Committee is a great fit for volunteers who:

  • Are interested in supporting other young professionals in obtaining further training and education to expand their skillset and advance professionally
  • Have skills to contribute in education, human resources, interviewing, analytics, marketing, and/or fundraising
Leadership & Professional Advancement Committee

This CCYP Committee supports CCYP's leadership development, professional advancement, coaching, and mentoring programs, including CCYP's Cape Women's Leadership Initiative and CCYP's Communicating with Confidence public speaking, communication & storytelling training program.

This Committee is a good fit for volunteers who:

  • Are interested in working with a team to design professional development, continuing education, mentoring, and coaching opportunities in support of workforce training and advancement
  • Want to engage Cape Codders in developing core leadership and management skills to grow professionally and personally
  • Have skills to contribute in event planning, education, training program design and implementation, marketing, and/or outreach
Economic Development & Small Business Resilience Committee

This CCYP Committee supports CCYP's programs and initiatives focused on small business training and support, workforce recruitment and retention, and marketing/promotion of CCYP member businesses and nonprofits.

This CCYP Committee is the right fit for volunteers who:

  • Are interested in developing tools, resources, and training programs in support of small businesses throughout our region
  • Have experience or interest in researching and implementing targeted marketing strategies for workforce recruitment/retention and business/nonprofit promotion
  • Have skills to contribute in human resources, small business training, education, videography, photography, or website design
CCYP Board of Directors and Additional Management Committees

In addition to the seven operating committees described above, CCYP has four management committees: Executive, Finance, Nominating & Governance, and Development. These CCYP committees are staffed by current members of CCYP's Board of Directors and former Board Officers, who work closely with CCYP's CEO in overseeing organizational strategy, governance, and finance.
