Connect Events Committee

The Connect Committee oversees year-round Connect Events with the goal of fostering meaningful connections and building community. This Committee is perfect for volunteers who want to:

  • Build connections with community members and make new professional contacts
  • Contribute skills in event planning, marketing, outreach, or volunteer management
  • Foster new connections and engage people living and working on Cape Cod

Leadership & Professional Advancement Committee

This Committee supports leadership development, professional advancement, coaching, and mentoring programs, including CCYP's Cape Women's Leadership Initiative and the Communicating with Confidence program. This Committee is a good fit for volunteers who want to:

  • Work with a team to design professional development, continuing education, mentoring, and coaching opportunities in support of workforce training and advancement
  • Engage in developing core leadership and management skills to grow professionally and personally
  • Contribute in event planning, education, and program design and implementation sklls

Back to Business Bash Committee

The Bash organizes CCYP's biggest event: the Back to Business Bash! The Bash attracts hundreds of attendees and showcases local restaurants, breweries, wineries, food and beverage purveyors, musicians, entertainers, and more. The Committee is a great fit for volunteers who want to:

  • Build connections with community members and make new professional contacts
  • Contribute skills in marketing, event planning, graphic design, or volunteer management
  • Contribute to this impactful Cape Cod community-building event
Shape the Cape Summit Committee

Each spring, CCYP convenes hundreds of business and nonprofit leaders, elected officials, local employers, and the Cape’s workforce at the Shape the Cape Summit for solutions-oriented sessions on the issues that matter most to our region. Summit sessions are designed to foster creative idea exchange, surface solutions, and identify opportunities for collaboration across sectors to ensure that our current and future workforce can live, work, and thrive. The Committee is a great fit for volunteers who want to:

  • Contribute to shaping innovative strategies and future opportunities in housing, early childhood education, economic development, small business sustainability, coastal resilience, and more
  • Contribute skills in project management, event planning, marketing, outreach, facilitation, education, or volunteer management
Scholarship Committee

The Career Connect Scholarship offers a unique career development tool for young professionals. The Committee reviews annual scholarship applications and recommends each year's recipients and supports fundraising efforts. The Committee is a great fit for volunteers who want to:

  • Support professionals in obtaining further training and education to expand their skillset and advance professionally
  • Contribute skills in education, human resources, interviewing, analytics, marketing, and/or fundraising
Civic & Community Engagement Committee

The Civic & Community Engagement Committee helps guide CCYP’s civic engagement training and advocacy work on issues of importance to young professionals, our year-round workforce, and working families on Cape Cod. This committee also develops community service opportunities that connect and engage young professionals in making a positive impact. This Committee is a good fit for volunteers who want to:

  • Learn about or get more involved in, local policy- and decision-making processes
  • Help to implement CCYP's annual civic engagement training program
  • Share expertise in the areas of civic engagement, policy development, outreach, research, event planning, and/or communication
  • Advocate for housing, early childhood education, and economic development

The CCYP Board of Directors serves an integral role in the strategic, financial, and governance-related work of CCYP. CCYP Board Members donate their time to further the mission and work of CCYP and, in the process, form strong connections with fellow young professionals and advance their own personal and professional goals.

In addition to the committees described above, CCYP has four management committees: Executive, Finance, Nominating & Governance, and Development. These CCYP committees are staffed by current members of CCYP's Board of Directors who work closely with CCYP's staff in overseeing organizational strategy, governance, and finance.

Recruitment for new Board members takes place between October and November of each year, with terms beginning in January. CCYP is currently accepting applications to fill open seats for Board terms that will begin in January 2025. Apply today!
